Blogger's Block

I have been in a major writing mood lately, but I can't seem to come up with anything to write about.  Nothing is leaping out of my mind and onto the computer screen.  Or at least nothing that is at all interesting.  I could go back to doing the Table Topics cards, but I'm not sure where they are.  Hmmm . . . what to do?!?  I guess if all else fails, post pictures!

There wasn't much that entertained me (and that was appropriate to post somewhere where my family will see it) this last week or two, so I threw in some oldies as well.

• Least Likely to Be Adopted Project-I want them all!  I still really think that my dad should do something like this with his photography skills instead of taking pictures of birds.
• Burger King Delivery Service in NYC-I'm ok with not having Burger King delivery service, but I do really wish that more restaurants would have drive-up windows.  Or at least car-side service like at Sonic.  My point is that I will get in my car, but not get out of it. 
• Pictures from James Mollison's Where Children Sleep-Love the boy from Kentucky.  The girls from Nepal and Brazil break my heart.  Check out these pictures if you need a gratitude check.
• Russell Brand interviews two members of the Westboro Baptist Church-I feel like this is a combination of people that should have been an epic disaster, but Russell Brand handled himself with dignity (mostly) and his guests with more kindness and respect than I ever could have.
• Butt Implant Malfunction-So many things wrong with this.
• iPet Companion-I haven't actually tried this yet, but how could something that lets you remotely play with pets in shelters be a bad thing?
• My favorite travel blogger is Adventurous Kate.  She is the one that inspired me to take this solo trip to Ireland and England next March, so we can all blame her if things go horribly wrong!

It was warm (relatively speaking) over the weekend and all the snow slid off the roof. Right outside of the kitchen is where the most snow piles up because two slopes dump their snow right there. Saidy, the neighbor's dog (who Lorri refers to as my child), has taken advantage of this and here is what I discovered when I looked out the kitchen window this afternoon . . .

As you may have noticed, I'm going through an obsessive blogger phase. Don't worry, I'll make up for it later by not blogging for a couple months.

When I first started reading this tribute to the movie The Monster's Christmas (don't worry, I had never heard of it either) I was slightly intrigued and then I saw the following and it is now my mission in life to find this movie.

I can't stop watching this; it's hypnotic. In my mind, when she makes the face, there are sound effects.

I have just discovered Cracked.com. Prepare to be inundated with funny/interesting articles. First up-the Disney model for relationships. Here's just one gem from this article:

A half-baked sequel staring your mutant off-spring that introduces new blood (in the form of one new male) into the pride. I'm not even going to tread near the notion of how Simba inherited all those females. Neither The Lion King or The Lion King II: Simba's Pride seem to have any scruples concerning raising children in a harem of sex partners. An orgy is simply quality "family time."

I just discovered the blog Rurally Screwed and love it. I especially enjoy the post "Rumble at Wally World." You should go read it. This is one of the (many) reasons I hate shopping at Wal-Mart. If only I had the guts to stand up to people like she did!

today's highlights

1. I finally got my dress for my cousin's wedding. Also got a little black shrug to wear with it and black heels. I'm not entirely sure about the shoes, but at this point I've already started breaking them in and I just can't be bothered to find shoes that will not only match a little bit better, but that also come in my size and are actually at the store and don't have to be ordered. (I have big feet-size 11. Oprah wears 11 too. And so does Paris Hilton, but she doesn't get to be in my big foot club because well, she's Paris Hilton.)



2. I watched yesterday's episode of Kell on Earth and loved that Kelly and Andrew crashed Tandrew's blind date. If you aren't watching this show, you need to be. Not getting Bravo is no excuse-they put the episodes online.

3. While I was in Vegas over the weekend (don't you love how I just threw that in there, nonchalantly, like I'm this world traveler and have this fabulous life!), I stopped at Trader Joe's because they have a great vegan selection. One of the things I got was a Vegetable Panang Curry (third item down), which I ate today. It was so good. So good. BTW, Trader Joe's needs to be opening up a store somewhere along the Wasatch Front ASAP. If you can open stores in Wisconsin and Minnesota, surely you can branch out into Utah.

4. This actually occurred last night, but I'm still riding the high from it . . . Gossip Girl is finally back after an exceedingly long hiatus!!! And if Gossip Girl's back, that means Daily Intel's Gossip Girl Recap is also back!!!
