Uncle Soren

My great-uncle Soren passed away. He had been sick for quite a while, so it wasn't a surprise. I'm happy for him; his wife died in 1992 and now they get to be together again. He was married to Fern (I love that their names rhyme-Soren is pronounced Sern), who was my Grandma's sister.

Soren Glenn Sabey, 86 of American Fork died at his home April 14, 2008.
Born Sept. 21, 1921 in Lehi to Aaron J. and Ivy Charlotte Sorenson Sabey. Veteran of World War II, having served in the Marines. He graduated from BYU with a degree in Agronomy and major in Animal Husbandry.
He married Fern Walker on May 31, 1944 in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. She died Dec. 30, 1992. He worked for the University of Wyoming Experimental Farm and for the U.S. Government Soil and Water Conservation Service.
He was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He was a beloved leader in the Boy Scouts of America for 70 years. He served in all positions and received the Silver Beaver Award. He loved gardening, watching BYU sports, Scouting and hiking.
He is survived by his children: Sandra Sabey, Bruce W. Sabey (Deanne McCausland) and Dean W. Sabey (Jerris Faye Peck), six grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
